Aaron Metler to Represent St. George in 130th Boston Marathon

Local Marathon Champion Joins Elite Field in Prestigious Race

Aaron Metler, a celebrated figure in the St. George running community, has been invited to compete in the elite men's field of the 130th Boston Marathon.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Metler stated, "The Boston Marathon is the 'Super Bowl' of running. To be invited to be part of the men's professional field is the highest honor I could imagine."

Metler's impressive resume includes four victories at the St. George Marathon, with wins in 2010, 2014, 2015, and 2021.

Beyond his personal achievements, he serves as the Recreation Manager for Races and Special Events for the City of St. George, playing a pivotal role in organizing local athletic events.

His participation in the Boston Marathon not only highlights his personal dedication but also brings national attention to St. George's vibrant running culture.

Metler's inclusion in the elite field underscores the city's growing reputation as a hub for endurance sports.

St. George has been experiencing significant growth and development, further enhancing its appeal.

Recent projects include the construction of a new, larger city hall on Main Street, set for completion in mid-2025, and the opening of REI's first southern Utah location at the St. George Place Shopping Center in fall 2025.

Additionally, the city is widening 3000 East into a five-lane street to alleviate traffic congestion.

These developments reflect St. George's commitment to accommodating its expanding population and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

As Metler prepares for the Boston Marathon, his journey serves as an inspiration to local athletes and a testament to the city's supportive environment for sports and recreation.

His participation is a source of pride for St. George, symbolizing the community's dedication to excellence and its growing prominence on the national stage.
