Mod the Modern Market is coming back to St George this Fall |
Boutique Market for small businesses and local vendors |

In St. George, small business markets are more than shopping trips; they are introductions between neighbors.
That sense of connection is the heart of Mod the Modern Market, a family-run venture rooted in the city.
Its local founders built the market around a simple concern: independent sellers need welcoming places to meet customers.
With over 10 years of small-business experience, the family knows how much a good market day can matter.
Mod the Modern Market aims to put vendors’ experiences at the center of each gathering.
For sellers, that means a setting intended to feel approachable rather than overwhelming, with room to build real connections.
For shoppers, it means a chance to discover the people behind the products instead of making another anonymous purchase.
That personal exchange can be the difference between a one-time sale and a lasting local following.
The organizers say they created the event after noticing too few opportunities for small businesses to gather and grow.
Organizers have celebrated reaching a seventh market, a milestone they credit to vendors and St. George shoppers.
What began as a response to a gap in local vendor markets has become a recurring point of connection.
St. George and area vendors bring their own stories to the table, while residents bring curiosity and the willingness to browse.
A conversation, a recommendation or a familiar face can give a young business valuable momentum.
For a small seller, being seen can feel just as important as making a sale.
The family behind the event credits St. George and area residents for helping it continue and wants vendors to feel supported along the way.
As community markets bring shoppers and entrepreneurs together, Mod the Modern Market offers a reminder that local commerce works best when people show up for one another,

More of this please. St George has grown so much and it still feels like there aren't enough local markets compared to bigger Utah cities.
Paulette R.St George keeps growing but the local market scene hasn't really kept up. Glad someone noticed the gap and actually did something about it.
Nice to see a market that actually cares about the vendors and not just filling spots. Makes a difference.
Paul WhitmoreThat really does make a difference. I have been to markets where it felt like vendors were just crammed in with no thought. A relaxed setup makes shopping way more enjoyable too.
I appreciate that the people running this actually have small business experience. You can tell the difference when organizers actually get it.
cinda_stgSame. When organizers have actually run a booth or dealt with slow days themselves they know what vendors actually need. Makes a big difference.
November 14 is a Saturday so that works out well. Might bring the kids and make a morning of it.
November 14 is right before the holidays too so perfect timing for finding local gifts.
Free admission is huge. Makes it easy to just pop in without feeling pressured to spend money.
My wife bought some candles from a vendor at the last one and has gone back to order more since. Exactly what they are talking about.
Rick D.Same thing happened with us! My husband bought some salsa from a guy at one of these and now he orders a case from him every few months. Those vendors really do build a following.
Been to a couple of these already and they are so fun. Love seeing familiar faces every time.
Tracey M.Same here. You start recognizing the vendors and they start recognizing you. Feels more like a neighborhood thing than just a shopping event.
Seven markets in and still going strong? That's actually impressive. A lot of these pop up once and disappear.
skeptical_shopperRight, the seventh market is no small thing. Most fizzle out after the second or third when the novelty wears off. These folks must be doing something right.
Vernon Worthen Park is a great spot for this. Plenty of space and easy to get to. Good choice.
Brett SandovalYeah the park has that nice open layout so it never feels cramped even when there's a decent crowd. Good call on the location.
Went to one of the earlier markets and ended up buying candles from a lady who makes them out of her garage. Still buying from her two years later. This is exactly what St George needs.
Tricia M.That's such a good example of how these things are supposed to work. A two minute conversation turns into a loyal customer. Love that.
