Exploring the Impact of Dedicated Volunteerism in Southern Utah |
In the heart of Southern Utah, one woman's unwavering dedication to community service has left an indelible mark on the region.
Her journey began decades ago, driven by a passion to uplift and support those around her.
Over the years, Nina Raynor Barnes has been instrumental in organizing and participating in numerous local events and initiatives.
In 2025, she played a pivotal role in the Kanab Women's Forum, celebrating its 25th anniversary.
This event has been a cornerstone of empowerment and community in Kanab since its inception in 2000.
Her involvement ensured the forum's success, fostering a space for women of all ages to connect and grow.
Beyond event organization, she has been a key member of the Southern Utah Ladies Society (SULS).
Through SULS, she has supported local non-profits by coordinating fundraising events, donation drives, and volunteer programs.
Notably, she contributed to the planning of the 2025 fundraiser, Beer, Brats, & Bunco - An Oktoberfest Event, aimed at raising funds for The Sharing Place.
Her commitment extends to health and wellness initiatives as well.
She was actively involved in the 2025 Turn On Your HeartLight Life Run, a 5K fundraiser in Washington City.
This event supported causes like Annie's Stone, providing headstones for families who lose a child under age three, and Helping Babies Breathe, equipping midwives in Guatemala with life-saving tools.
Her dedication to service has not gone unnoticed.
In 2024, she was honored at the Women & Business Conference and ATHENA Awards Luncheon in Salt Lake City.
This recognition celebrated her creativity, initiative in business, and invaluable service to the community.
Through her tireless efforts, she has not only improved the quality of life for many in Southern Utah but has also inspired others to engage in meaningful community service.
Her story is a testament to the profound impact one individual can have on a community through dedication and compassion. |
