St. George Tops Milken Ranking as Best-Performing Small City in the U.S.

St. George, Utah, has achieved a significant milestone by securing the top position in the Milken Institute's 2026 Best-Performing Cities index for small metropolitan areas.

 

This recognition underscores the city's dynamic economic growth and strategic initiatives that have enhanced its appeal.

 

Over the past five years, St. George has experienced a remarkable job growth rate of nearly 24%, driven by expansions in the education and health services sectors, which now constitute 17.1% of the city's total employment.

 

In January 2026, the city celebrated the completion of a new $51.5 million City Hall, a project that blends historic downtown architecture with modern design.

 

This facility includes a 78,000-square-foot building and a four-story parking garage, enhancing the city's infrastructure to support its growing population.
