Realtors Reach Foundation launches new round of down payment assistance

The Realtors Reach Foundation is once again investing in the future of homeownership across Washington County.

In a significant move, the foundation has launched a new round of down payment assistance, aiming to make homeownership more accessible for residents in St. George, Utah.

Applications for this assistance are open from February 1 through March 1, 2026, with five recipients set to receive $5,000 each to aid in their home purchases.

To qualify, applicants must meet specific criteria, including a credit score above 640 and a commitment to owner-occupy the purchased property.

Additionally, the home must be located within Washington County, and the buyer must work with a licensed REALTOR® during the purchase process.

These grants are designed to be a direct boost for potential homeowners, as the funds can be applied toward down payments or closing costs and do not require repayment.

In 2025, this program successfully assisted 11 new homeowners, and the foundation is eager to continue this momentum into 2026.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the full eligibility requirements and submit their applications promptly to take advantage of this opportunity.

For more information on the application process and eligibility, interested parties should contact the Washington County Board of REALTORS®.

In the broader context, the housing market in St. George has shown resilience and growth.

Despite a slight decrease in median sale prices compared to the previous year, the market remains competitive, with homes typically selling in around 66 days.

These trends underscore the importance of initiatives like the Realtors Reach Foundation's down payment assistance program, which plays a crucial role in supporting individuals and families striving to achieve homeownership in a dynamic market.

By providing financial assistance and fostering community growth, the foundation continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Washington County residents.
