Trailblazer Nation Gears Up for Community Homecoming in St. George

Utah Tech University is rolling out the red carpet for its annual Homecoming Week, inviting the St. George community to partake in a series of events that highlight the vibrant spirit of Trailblazer Nation.

 

The festivities commence on October 21 with the esteemed Miss Utah Tech competition, set to take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Eccles Fine Arts Center's Main Stage Theatre. This event showcases the talent and poise of students vying for the coveted title.

 

On October 24, the campus will transform into a hub of excitement with the Homecoming Carnival & Car Show starting at 5:30 p.m. on the Encampment Mall. Attendees can enjoy a variety of attractions, including classic cars and carnival games. The evening will culminate with the Concert Under the Stars at 7:30 p.m. in Town Square, featuring the Utah Tech Orchestra and a spectacular fireworks display.

 

The celebration continues on October 25 with a family-friendly parade down University Avenue at 10 a.m., showcasing floats, bands, and community groups. Later that day, the Trailblazer Village tailgate experience kicks off at 3:30 p.m. in the Atwood Innovation Plaza parking lot, leading up to the Homecoming football game against Southern Utah Thunderbirds at 6 p.m. in Greater Zion Stadium.

 

These events not only celebrate the university's traditions but also reflect the dynamic growth of St. George. Recent developments include the expansion of the St. George Regional Airport and the construction of a new city hall on Main Street, both slated for completion in 2025.

 

Additionally, the city is welcoming new businesses like REI, set to open its first southern Utah location in the St. George Place Shopping Center in fall 2025.
