The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower, share a smile and it becomes a friendship, dream a dream and it becomes a reality — this is all the proof I need of the generosity of the universe.

Joke Of The Day

My boss told me to have a good day, so I went home.

Turns out "good day" and "workday" are mutually exclusive.

Federal infrastructure funding has given St. George a major boost, paving the way for a transformational I-15 underpass project.

City leaders recently secured crucial support to help residents move more easily across town, addressing frustrations caused by I-15 dividing neighborhoods, schools, and businesses.

Plans call for new underpasses at 400 East and 900 South, paired with safer sidewalks and upgraded infrastructure to make daily journeys more convenient.

Momentum is building quickly, as the Utah Department of Transportation is set to rebuild this stretch of I-15, giving local planners the perfect window to complete both projects at once.

Tip of The Day

Chase the Golden Hour at the Sand Hollow Sandstone Bluffs

Most visitors to St. George head straight for Zion or Snow Canyon, but the rusty red sandstone ridges surrounding Sand Hollow Reservoir offer an underrated canvas for late-afternoon light. Arrive about 45 minutes before sunset and position yourself on the eastern shoreline — the warm orange glow reflects off both the water and the bluffs simultaneously, giving you two layered compositions in one spot without the crowds.

Bring a wide-angle lens or simply use your phone's panorama mode facing southwest. The contrast between the electric blue reservoir and the deep crimson rock is most dramatic in late spring and early fall when the water level is high.

Secret Little Hack

Skip the Crowds at Snow Canyon by Hitting the Petrified Dunes at Dusk

Most visitors to Snow Canyon State Park show up mid-morning and beeline for the marked trails, completely overlooking the petrified sand dunes near the park entrance. Here's the insider move: arrive about 90 minutes before sunset on a weekday. The dunes are an open scramble area — no designated trail required — so you can wander freely across the ancient sandstone formations while the light turns them a deep, almost glowing amber-red.

The real hack is that the dunes sit slightly elevated, giving you an unobstructed 360-degree view of the surrounding lava fields and canyon walls without a single interpretive sign or tour group in sight. Locals use this spot for stargazing immediately after dark since the park's western edge blocks most of St. George's light pollution. Bring a blanket, stay past closing rush, and you essentially have one of Utah's most dramatic landscapes completely to yourself — no Zion shuttle lines, no permit lottery, just you and a billion-year-old ocean floor turned to stone.

💡 Answer to Trivia Question:
By adopting this digital mapping technology, St. George revolutionized how it managed and displayed its city utilities, zoning, and public works. This allowed city planners and citizens to access vital spatial data—laying the groundwork for the modern, tech-forward administration that continues to operate out of the region today.
