For a great hiking trail and beautiful views of the city and surrounding red rock landscape.

As St. George’s new City Hall prepares to open, excitement is growing for a remarkable new addition: a sculpture by Jerry Anderson, a celebrated artist known for his poignant tributes to local history.

At 90 years old, Anderson credits his wife, Fawn, for her unwavering encouragement through their 71-year marriage.

Fawn, once a high school cheerleader, has remained steadfast by Anderson’s side, even supporting his creative work after enduring a recent stroke.

The new sculpture was inspired by the enduring love of St. George pioneers David and Wilhelmina Cannon, capturing a tender moment when David presented Wilhelmina with a sego lily — now Utah’s state flower.

Historian Richard Whitehead personally funded the $115,000 work, honoring local resilience and lasting community spirit.

The artwork will be unveiled in January, celebrating love stories that continue to shape St. George.
